Maria Lind is Director of the Tensta Konsthall, Stockholm, and an independent curator and writer interested in exploring the formats and methodologies connected with the contemporary art institution. Previously, Lind held directorial positions at the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, Stockholm’s Iaspis, and the Kunstverein Munchen. From 1997 to 2001 she was a curator at the Modern Museet and was co-curator of Manifesta 2 in 1998. Her publications include numerous exhibition catalogue essays, including Fresh Cream (2000, Phaidon), Curating with Light Luggage (2005, Revolver), and Taking the Matter into Common Hands: Collaborative Practices in Contemporary Art (2007, Black Dog Publishing). In 2009 she received the Walter Hopps Award for Curatorial Achievement and recently her critical essays have been published in Selected Maria Lind Writing (2010, Sternberg Press).
