Paula V. Kupfer is an independent scholar, writer, and editor. Previously, she worked as managing editor of Aperture magazine and as photo editor for the San Francisco–based California Sunday Magazine. Her writing has been published in the catalogue Traveler Artists: Landscapes of Latin America from the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection, as well as in The PhotoBook Review, Surface magazine, and on TIME Lightbox, BOMB online, and the Aperture blog. Kupfer has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and Latin American studies from New York University and a master’s degree in art history from Hunter College. She will begin her PhD studies in art history in the fall of 2017.
