Abbie Doran, Project Support and Research Officer, Wellcome

I’m one quarter of the International Cultural Programmes team at Wellcome, currently focusing on mental health with Mindscapes (and previously infectious disease via Contagious Cities). I’ve been at Wellcome for six years and have experience in a variety of roles in Public Programmes at Wellcome Collection. These include as an Events Officer in Live Programmes, and Curatorial Assistant in Exhibitions, working on Smoke & Mirrors and Making Nature.

Prior to joining Wellcome, I was based in the research department of the Victoria & Albert museum after completing a Masters in the History of Design run jointly by the V&A and Royal College of Art. I’ve explored and written about a range of topics often related to bodies, material culture, social and natural history. My interests continue to be broad and international but rooted in historical and contemporary human experience and health inequalities. I am happiest when working collaboratively with people across disciplines, experiences and backgrounds on a shared objective and topic.
