Andrea Ariza García is a PhD student in Latin American, Iberian and Latino Cultures at the Graduate Center, CUNY. Her current research explores the materiality of language in the epistemic colonisation process in Latin America, through an archival ethnography of the inquisitorial witchcraft prosecutions in colonial Mexico. Her research interests are gender studies, queer studies, historical sociolinguistics, archival theory, cultural history, critical pedagogy, ecofeminist theory and object-oriented ontology amongst others. She also teaches courses in Spanish language at Brooklyn College and Linguistic Anthropology at The City College of New York.
