Catherine Engh is a PhD. Candidate in English at The Graduate Center, City University of New York and a Graduate Teaching Fellow at Hunter College. She is interested in how poetic language mediates the relation between humans and the physical world. Her current research asks how religious and aesthetic discourses of natural order clash with discourses of illness, trauma and dispossession in Romantic literature.
