Dalila Scruggs earned a Ph.D. in art history in 2010 from Harvard University, where she focused on African American art. She has held curatorial positions at the Williams College Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum, and currently serves as the Brooklyn Museum’s Museum Education Fellowship Coordinator. She is currently developing a program called Art & Empathy: Community Care through Art intended to make space for self-care, conversation, and connection during the Covid-19 pandemic.
