Eileen Myles was born in Boston in 1949 and moved to New York in 1974 to be a poet. Snowflake / different streets (Wave Books) is the latest of her 18 books. Inferno (a poet’s novel) (OR Books) came out in 2010. She received a Warhol/Creative Capital grant for The Importance of Being Iceland: Travel Essays in Art. In 2010, The Poetry Society of America awarded Myles the Shelley Memorial Award. She is a Professor Emeritus of Writing at UC San Diego and lives in New York.
