Evel Romain was born in Port-au-Prince in 1969. He is a member of the artists’ collective known as Atis Rezistans and a broader movement known as the Sculptors of Grand Rue. Evel trained with Celeur Jean Herard.

Much of Evel’s work reflects his African heritage with his use of minimal form and rope detail. Evel has been a participant and organizer for the Ghetto Biennale since its inception in 2009.
