Jonah Westerman is a doctoral candidate in Art History at the Graduate Center, CUNY. His dissertation analyzes the shifting stakes of history and identity in European performance art since 1989; a portion of it has just been published in State in Time, a collection of essays about an ongoing conceptual performance work by the Slovenian artists’ collective, Neue Slowenische Kunst. He has taught courses in modern and contemporary art at Brooklyn College and The Museum of Modern Art, New York.
