Laura Spinney is an author and science journalist. She has published two novels in English, The Doctor (2001) and The Quick (2007). Her third book, a portrait of a European city in interviews entitled Rue Centrale, came out in 2013 from Editions L’Age d’Homme, and her fourth, a non-fiction account of the 1918 flu pandemic called Pale Rider: the Spanish flu of 1918 and how it changed the world, was published in June 2017. She writes on science for National Geographic, The Economist, Nature, New Scientist and The Guardian among others. She lives in Paris.
