Paul Berman is the critic-at-large for Tablet magazine. His books, which include The Flight of the Intellectuals, Power and the Idealists, and Terror and Liberalism, have been translated into many languages. He has been on the staff of The New Republic, The New Yorker, Slate and other magazines, and has been awarded fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Guggenheim and MacArthur foundations.
