Roland Roebuck is a long-time activist on issues that impact on afrodescendientes. For over 40 years he has worked tirelessly, through advocacy and mentoring, to combat racism and promote social justice. A founding member of several Washington DC community organizations, he is currently the Vice-President of Fiesta DC and advisor to the AfroLatino Alliance. He has served on many national and international commissions and organizations, including the Latino Economic Development Corporation, Commission on Latino Community Development, Smithsonian Center for Latino Programs, DC Hispanic Employees Association, St. Croix African Roots Project and Casa Cultural Afro-Caribena-Yuiza, Inc.
