Samrah Shoaib is a queer desi femme who is a soon to be graduate at Brooklyn College, with a double major in Sociology and Women’s and Gender Studies. She is a CUNY Pipeline fellow, and hopes to pursue her PhD one day. Her research seeks to reimagine the ways in which queer Brown girls can use art as resistance. Samrah hopes for a world free of oppression where women of color can feel safe and validated. Her lifelong goal is to create spaces where women are loved, heard, and given the resources that they deserve. She is a part time bartender living in Brooklyn, New York who makes fire drinks.
