Tania Avilés Vergara is a PhD candidate in Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures, Hispanic Sociolinguistics track, at the Graduate Center, CUNY. She has taught Spanish in John Jay College and Hispanic Linguistics in The City College of New York and Lehman College. Last Spring (20), she was an Open Pedagogy Fellow at the Mina Rees Library in the Graduate Center and developed a zero-cost syllabus for Introductory Spanish for Heritage Speakers at John Jay College. She is currently a Publics Lab fellow at the Graduate Center (2020-2022).
