About this CUNY Adjunct Incubator Project

As part of a research project supported by the CUNY Adjunct Incubator, Aurash Khawarzad, an Adjunct Faculty at Macaulay Honors College, CUNY is developing a research project titled "A People's CUNY Climate Plan?".

This project builds on "A People's Climate Plan for New York City?", which proposed leveraging CUNY resources for a People's Climate Planning process, including its student body, workforce, and physical infrastructure. Made up of 20 campuses spread out across the five boroughs, the CUNY system already comprises: Vast amounts of publicly owned land, space, technology, and equipment; Dense socio-ecological connections to local neighborhoods and landscapes; The accumulated history, knowledge, skill, and labor of thousands of professors, staff, and students. CUNY campuses could be activated and networked through the establishment of interdisciplinary "hubs" that support the incubation of climate planning concepts for the campus and that can be scaled up for other parts of the City and beyond. A People's CUNY Climate Plan will include public programs and the multi-media content that share its findings.
