Basel Alyazouri, Activestills member, was born in Gaza City and currently studies at Bard College in upstate New York. His work has been published in Al Jazeera English, Electronic Intifada, Middle East Eye, +972 Magazine, Flint, and Local Call. He was selected for the Magnum Foundation Photography and Human Rights Fellowship program in 2015.
