Brian Jones is an educator, actor, and activist in New York City. Before coming to the Graduate Center's Urban Education Program, Brian taught elementary grades in New York City's public schools for nine years (eight in Harlem, one in Brooklyn). Brian has been a leading voice in the struggle to defend and improve public education. He co-narrated the film, the Inconvenient Truth Behind Waiting for Superman, and contributed to the book, Education and Capitalism: Struggles for Learning and Liberation. Brian has also lent his voice to several audiobooks, including The John Carlos Story: The Sports Moment That Changed the World, and Howard Zinn's one-man play, Marx in Soho.
