Karen Okigbo is a doctoral student in the Sociology program at the CUNY Graduate Center. She earned a Bachelors in Politics from Princeton University, and holds Masters degrees in Sociology from North Dakota State University and Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania. Her research explores the assimilation experiences and educational attainment of African immigrants in the U.S. She currently teaches in the Sociology department at City College of New York.
